In my last entry, I posted Ecclesiastes 3, the verse I am meditating with until now. Yesterday, I was able to share the first few verses of this chapter to some young people while we reflected in the movie “Click.”
Well, I’m not going to put any synopsis of the movie here for the sake of those who weren’t able to watch it yet.
Some lessons learned:
There are three things which you can not take back: words spoken, lost opportunities and TIME. Time is capitalized for emphasis because this is one of the most abused [commodities] blessings. Sometimes, busy people want more time in a day to finish everything they want while other people spend their time unwisely.
Learn to wait. Waiting is a virtue. Not everything will be given to us or we will achieve what we want in our time. God has always alloted time for everything. He has the best plans and all will be beautiful in his time. Just learn to wait.
Value your family. Friends may come and go but our families will always be there. They may seem not to value us sometime but during hard times, they will be there. They must be one reason of our existence. Give them some of our time.
Seek God first. In Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the Lord’’s purpose that prevails.” So before doing anything seek God first. We should acknowledge that his will and strength is greater than ours.
Life is perfect. I was actually arguing with myself with this statement. However, I realized this is a reality as long us we are still in this world. Our lives is made with all of the ingredients to make it perfect—sadness, joy, tears, laughters, pain, comfort, life, death and so on. Without all these, we can never be a real person.
We can never have a universal remote control that will help us manage our lives in our own ways. We just have to learn to value the blessings that God is giving us. These are the times in our lives. We should enjoy it and give our best to the Giver.
